DiBenedetto

Mobile developer passionate about creating great user experiences—building iOS apps in Swift and community tools in Python.

Current Status

Co-developer of Burnbar. Actively seeking new iOS engineering roles and collaborations.

After pursuing stand-up and comedy writing for the last 5 years, I felt ready for a change. I’ve been into video games my entire life — from playing World of Warcraft and managing a guild of hundreds in high school to coding my own Pokémon games. One of them, Pokémon Toxic, was a storyline that followed my brother’s life and highlighted elements from our childhood.

For the last year and change I’ve been building BurnBar. I’m eager to take what I’ve learned, work on other projects, and keep improving as a developer.

Burnbar

BurnBar is a production iOS app that helps users build healthier drinking habits by turning movement into earned drinks and providing meaningful alcohol insights. As the primary iOS developer, I build and maintain features across the entire app while shipping regular App Store updates.

About This Project

My Role

I led the iOS development of BurnBar independently for over a year, working directly with the product owner to turn ideas into production features. During that time, I was responsible for designing, building, testing, and shipping nearly every major feature in the app—from SwiftUI interfaces and HealthKit integration to drink tracking, subscriptions, notifications, analytics, and App Store releases.

My work spans nearly every part of the application, including HealthKit integration, drink tracking, onboarding, subscription flows, analytics, notifications, statistics and data visualization, account management, and ongoing App Store releases.

As BurnBar grew, a senior iOS developer joined the team to help strengthen the application's architecture and engineering practices. Since then, we've worked closely together to improve the structure of the codebase, review implementation decisions, and build new features using scalable patterns. Through that collaboration, I've continued to grow as an iOS engineer while contributing to the application's continued development.
